Liver

6 months and up

⚡ Quick answer

Liver is an iron reserve, but its vitamin A is VERY high: after 6 months it can be given once a week, in an amount not exceeding 1 teaspoon, as a thoroughly cooked puree.

How to serve it by age?

6-8 months

Thoroughly cooked and pureed — a very small amount (a teaspoon), within a vegetable puree.

9-11 months

Continues as a mash once a week in a small portion.

12+ months

The amount can increase a little; the frequency should not exceed 1-2 times a week.

📌 Watch out for these

  • Too much liver = too much vitamin A; it can accumulate and harm babies — the amount rule is important.
  • Freshness and full cooking are critical; it is good to consult your pediatrician before starting.
