Yogurt Fruit Bowl — A Light Spring Treat for 2-Year-Olds
A quick, no-added-sugar dessert made with strained yogurt, strawberries, banana, and soft apricot. A gentle little bowl for 2-year-olds that highlights the freshness of spring fruit and is fun to assemble together.
⚠️ Contains allergens: milk
Ingredients
- 1 cup strained full-fat plain yogurt (organic)
- 4 pieces ripe strawberries (washed, thinly sliced)
- half piece ripe banana (thinly sliced)
- 1 piece soft apricot (pitted, cut into small pieces)
- 1 tablespoon finely ground rolled oats (optional, sprinkled on top)
- 2-3 leaves fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
Directions
- 1
Rinse the strawberries thoroughly under running water; remove the stems and cut them into small slices.
- 2
Peel the banana and slice it into thin rounds; wash the apricot, remove the pit, and cut it into small soft pieces.
- 3
Spoon the strained yogurt into a small bowl and gently spread it with the back of a spoon.
- 4
Arrange the prepared fruit on top of the bowl in a colorful pattern; keep the pieces age-appropriately small so little hands can hold them easily.
- 5
If you like, sprinkle a tablespoon of finely ground rolled oats over the top to add gentle texture.
- 6
Garnish with a few fresh mint leaves if desired and serve right away.
- 7
Place the bowl on a stable plate so your little one can eat comfortably, and offer a soft, blunt-tipped spoon alongside.
🌱 Why is it nourishing?
Strained yogurt is rich in calcium, protein, and probiotics, which may support growing bones and the digestive system of little ones. Strawberries and apricot offer vitamin C and fiber, while the natural sweetness of banana means no added sugar is needed, providing a balanced profile of potassium. The ground oats add a small whole-grain touch that can help with the feeling of fullness. The colorful presentation makes it fun for 2-year-olds to discover different fruits.
