Chilled Peach Semolina Pudding — A Soft, No-Added-Sugar Summer Treat for 2-Year-Olds
Made with the natural sweetness of ripe peach, this soft milk-and-semolina pudding, served chilled, can be a refreshing, spoonable light treat for your 2-year-old on warm summer days. It contains no added sugar.
⚠️ Contains allergens: milk, gluten
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons Fine semolina
- 1 cup (240 ml) Milk (whole)
- 1 medium Ripe peach (peeled, pitted)
- 1 pinch (optional) Vanilla (natural, ground)
Directions
- 1
Wash, peel and pit the peach. Mash half with a fork into a purée, and cut the rest into very small, soft pieces.
- 2
In a small pot, warm the milk over medium heat without boiling. Slowly add the fine semolina, stirring constantly.
- 3
Lower the heat and keep stirring for 5-7 minutes, until it thickens into a smooth pudding, to prevent lumps.
- 4
Take the pot off the heat. Stir in the peach purée and an optional pinch of vanilla.
- 5
Divide the mixture into small bowls and top with the remaining soft peach pieces.
- 6
Chill in the fridge for at least 1 hour. Serve cool, soft and smooth, always under supervision.
🌱 Why is it nourishing?
Semolina can help add slow-releasing carbohydrates and energy to your child's snack. Milk can contribute calcium and protein. Ripe peach adds natural sweetness, fibre and vitamin C, so no added sugar is needed. Served chilled, its soft texture can be a light, refreshing treat on warm summer days.
