Vegetable Homemade Pasta — A Practical Main Course for 2-Year-Olds
A practical homemade pasta recipe for your baby, cooked until soft, enriched with seasonal vegetables and prepared with a very small amount of salt. A colourful, satisfying main course suited to the toddler stage.

Ingredients
- 1 cup Children's pasta (mini shapes)
- 1 small Carrot (grated)
- 1/2 small Courgette (grated)
- 1/2 small Tomato (peeled, diced)
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Strained yoghurt (for serving, optional)
- 1 pinch Fresh thyme (optional)
- 1 tiny pinch Iodised salt
Directions

Cook the pasta 2-3 minutes longer than the package suggests so the texture is very soft, then drain and set aside.

Warm the olive oil gently in a wide pan over medium heat.

Add the grated carrot and courgette and cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring gently.

Add the diced tomato and cook for another 3-4 minutes, stirring until it softens.

Add the cooked pasta to the vegetables and stir lightly to combine.

Add a very small pinch of salt and the optional fresh thyme, then cook for one more minute.

Spoon the mixture into a serving bowl and let it cool to a temperature your baby can eat comfortably.

If you like, finish with a spoonful of strained yoghurt on top before serving.

With its soft texture, this recipe is easy for children over 2 years old to chew and swallow. It brings together carbohydrates with vitamins from carrot, courgette and tomato to create a balanced meal. The optional yoghurt on top can add a little calcium and protein.
