⚠️ Contains allergens: gluten
Ingredients
- 1 cup red lentils
- 1 cup fine bulgur
- 1 small onion
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon tomato paste
- Half a bunch of parsley (finely chopped)
- 1 small pinch of salt
- 2.5 cups drinking water
Directions
- 1
Rinse the red lentils and simmer them in their water for about 15 minutes, until soft.
- 2
Pour the hot lentils over the fine bulgur, cover and let stand 15 minutes; the bulgur absorbs the liquid and softens.
- 3
Finely chop the onion and sauté in olive oil until golden, add the tomato paste, cook briefly and stir into the mixture.
- 4
Add the parsley and a small pinch of salt, then knead well with your hands once the mixture is lukewarm.
- 5
Shape small, flat, soft patties for a 2-year-old. Serve with plain yogurt if you like.
🌱 Why is it nourishing?
Red lentils are rich in plant protein and iron, while fine bulgur adds fibre and satiety. Egg-free and soft, this is a gentle snack that young children can hold and eat on their own. The parsley adds freshness and vitamin C to the plate.
