Baby bath steps?

Bathing is a unique skin-to-skin contact and bonding moment for babies. For the safest and most enjoyable bath, you can follow this sequence:

1. Preparation: First, place towel, diaper, clean clothes, and moisturizer (if needed) nearby. Heat the room and water (ideal water temperature is 37°C, check with your elbow). Put 3-5 cm of lukewarm water in the baby tub.

2. Entry and support: Undress the baby, place them in the water immediately (so they don't get cold). Support their head and neck firmly with one hand, and their hips with the other. Let their feet get used to the water first, then slowly lower their body.

3. Cleaning (top to bottom):

• First the eyes (inside out, separate cotton for each eye).
• Then face, behind ears, neck folds.
• Gently massage the scalp with a few drops of shampoo.
• Body, armpits, palms.
• Genitals last (girls from front to back).

4. Removing and drying: As soon as you take the baby out of the water, wrap them in a towel with their head inside, gently *pat dry rather than rub*. Make sure to thoroughly dry neck, armpits, and groin folds. Then diaper and dress them.

5. Frequency: Sponge bathing is recommended until the umbilical cord falls off. After that, 2-3 times a week is sufficient; daily bathing is not necessary.

Smile at your baby throughout the bath and speak in a calm voice, so they remember water as a safe experience. Never leave the baby alone; don't take your eyes off them even for a few seconds.
