Is funeral prayer performed for a 6-month-old baby?

In Islamic law, for every baby who showed signs of life at birth (crying, breathing, movement), funeral prayer is performed. A 6-month-old baby falls into this category. So it's not a fetus but a baby who was born and lived. Therefore, performing funeral prayer is appropriate according to Islamic law.

There are small details between different schools of Islamic law (for example, in Hanafi school, funeral prayer for a baby is like a supplication, not an obligatory community prayer, but it is considered commendable to perform it). The best thing is to ask your local mosque imam or a scholar to learn how to perform it correctly.
