4-month-old iron supplement?

Iron supplementation for a 4-month-old can be confusing, and that's completely understandable.

• If your baby was born early or had low birth weight, iron supplementation may have already started; your doctor is following this.
• Never start iron drops on your own. Dosing is based on your baby's weight and blood values. Too much can be toxic.
