Plum & Apple Purée – Spring's First Sweet Spoonful
Made with the season's freshest plums and apple, this gentle purée is a light yet nourishing choice for your baby's transition to solid foods.
Ingredients
- 2 pieces ripe plums (pitted and peeled)
- 1 piece apple (peeled and cored)
Directions

1) Wash the plums and carefully remove the skin and pit. Peel the apple and remove the core.
- 2
2) Cut both fruits into small cubes.

3) Place the fruit pieces in a small saucepan and add just enough water to cover them. Cook over low heat for 8–10 minutes, until the fruit is very soft.

4) Drain the cooked fruit through a strainer, setting aside a few spoonfuls of the cooking liquid.

5) Blend the softened fruit with a blender or hand blender until smooth. If the purée is too thick, stir in some of the reserved cooking liquid.

🌱 Why is it nourishing?
Plums contain natural sorbitol, which supports your baby's digestion and helps prevent constipation. Apple is a great source of fibre (pectin), promoting the healthy development of your baby's gut flora. The natural vitamin C found in both fruits boosts iron absorption, supporting cognitive development. Their mild, naturally sweet flavour helps build positive taste habits — no added sugar needed to encourage healthy eating. The smooth, soft texture makes this purée ideal for babies + months who are still developing their swallowing skills.
