Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1

    1) Add the rolled oats and water (or warm milk) to a small saucepan and cook over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    3) Remove the pan from the heat and drizzle the grape molasses over the top, giving it one gentle stir.

  4. 4

    4) Pour the porridge into a deep bowl and arrange the sliced almonds and halved strawberries on top.

  5. 5

    5) Serve straight away, or store in a lidded glass jar in the fridge for up to 1 day — loosen with a splash of warm water before serving.

🌱 Why is it nourishing?

Oats: Beta-glucan fibre keeps you full and helps prevent constipation; oats are also known as a galactagogue that may support milk production (evidence is limited — staying hydrated and nursing frequently remain the strongest drivers). Grape molasses: A plant-based source of iron and B vitamins that helps reduce the risk of postpartum anaemia. Almonds: Their magnesium and healthy fats help support muscle and nerve relaxation. Strawberries: Vitamin C boosts iron absorption, and as a fresh spring fruit they give your immune system a helping hand. This breakfast fits comfortably within the recommended ,–, kcal daily target for breastfeeding mothers.
