Melon Puree — A Refreshing, Naturally Sweet Summer Fruit for 7+ Months
A smooth, additive-free, refreshing fruit puree made from ripe melon. From 7 months, on hot summer days, you can offer it to your baby as a light, naturally sweet meal.
Ingredients
- 150 grams Ripe melon (seeds and rind removed)
- 1-2 tablespoons Breast milk or formula (to thin, optional)
Directions
- 1
Wash the melon well, halve it, scoop out the seeds with a spoon and cut away the rind.
- 2
Break the ripe melon flesh into small pieces; make sure it is soft enough to mash easily with a fork.
- 3
Mash the melon pieces with a fork or blend until smooth.
- 4
If the texture is too thick, thin to a consistency your baby can swallow easily by adding breast milk, formula or warm boiled water.
- 5
Serve it fresh, at room temperature, by spoon; offer only as much as you prepare, without letting it sit.
- 6
Introduce each new fruit one at a time, 3 days apart, and watch your baby's reactions.
🌱 Why is it nourishing?
Melon is a light, naturally sweet summer fruit with a high water content that adds a refreshing touch to your baby's meal on hot days. It provides vitamins A and C along with a small amount of fiber; with its smooth texture it can be a comfortable option for babies getting to know the spoon. Prepared with no additives and naturally sweet, it can take its place as an enjoyable fruit meal during the weaning period.
