Cribs for twin babies?

Using two separate cribs for twin babies is the general pediatric recommendation. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends each baby sleep on their own sleep surface, in their own bed. This is primarily to reduce sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and suffocation risk. When twins sleep in the same bed, they can block each other's breathing space or wake each other. Separate cribs allow each baby to move freely in their own sleep position. Cribs can be placed close together in the same corner of the room without touching. A twin crib set (sold together as a pair) is also a functional option. Always maintain the rule: a firm, flat sleep surface with only a sheet, no pillows, blankets, or toys in the sleep area.
