Baby development stages 7 grades?

Seeing many different tables online is very normal because each source can use a different classification. The most common and current pediatric approach evaluates baby development across four main areas:

1. Gross Motor: Large muscle movements (head control, rolling, sitting, crawling, walking).

2. Fine Motor: Small muscle movements (grasping objects, passing hand to hand, cutting with scissors).

3. Language/Communication: Making sounds, babbling, understanding and saying words.

4. Social/Emotional/Cognitive: Smiling, imitation, play, problem-solving.

Lists that have "grades" or "stages" numbering more than 7 are generally these four areas broken down into age ranges (for example, 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months). That's what makes it confusing.

What matters is when your baby starts gaining each skill. Most skills emerge within a certain month range, but not every baby on the same day. For example, for a 6-month-old "sitting" is a process from supported sitting to independent sitting.

For clear tracking, I recommend sticking to one simple source. You can use Turkey's Ministry of Health or AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) approved app milestone lists. If your baby is 1-2 months behind in one skill, don't worry; if there's more than 2 months delay, talk to your pediatrician.
