Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1

Choose soft, ripe and sweetly fragrant nectarines. Wash the skin thoroughly under running water.

  2. 2

Halve the nectarine and remove the pit, then peel off the skin; to prevent choking, make sure no hard pit or skin pieces remain.

  3. 3

Place the cut nectarine slices in a steamer basket and steam for 5-7 minutes, until soft enough to mash easily with a fork.

  4. 4

Transfer the cooked nectarines to a bowl and blend until smooth; for an even silkier texture you can pass the purée through a fine sieve.

  5. 5

Add the boiled, cooled water a little at a time to reach the flowing consistency your baby enjoys.

  6. 6

Serve the purée warm or slightly cool; check the temperature on your wrist before offering. Introduce any new ingredient one at a time, three days apart.

🌱 Why is it nourishing?

Thanks to its natural sweetness, nectarine offers a pleasant fruity taste and can add a silky, refreshing new texture to your baby's plate during this period. Its vitamin C, beta-carotene and high water content can contribute to a balanced diet on hot summer days. When well softened and blended smooth, it forms a consistency that is easy to swallow for babies just starting on the spoon.

Maiyko's note

At Maiyko we value the naturalness of your baby's first fruit tastes; if you can, choose fresh, fully ripe seasonal nectarines and carefully remove the skin and pit to prepare a safe, velvety purée.
