Cooling Chilled Peach Purée — A Soft, Refreshing Recipe for Hot Summer Days, 7+ Months
A single-fruit, velvety purée made from ripe peach, gently chilled and served refreshingly cool. A tender recipe from 7 months, with a soft texture and natural sweetness your baby may enjoy on warm summer days.
Ingredients
- 1 piece (about 120 g) Ripe peach
- 1-2 tablespoons Drinking water (to loosen, optional)
Directions
- 1
Wash the peach well; peel it, remove the pit and cut it into small pieces.
- 2
To make it easier to digest, lightly cook the pieces by steaming or in a little water for 4-5 minutes, until soft enough to mash with a fork. (If the peach is very ripe and soft, you may use it without cooking.)
- 3
Place the peach in a bowl; mash with a fork or blend until you have a smooth purée.
- 4
If it is too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons of drinking water, breast milk or formula to reach a spoonable consistency.
- 5
Chill the purée in the fridge for a few minutes; serve fresh at a cool, mildly warm temperature — not ice-cold — without letting it sit.
🌱 Why is it nourishing?
With its vitamin C, beta-carotene and fibre, peach can gently support your baby's balanced nutrition. Thanks to its high water content, it can be a refreshing choice in the summer months. Its soft texture and natural sweetness can make the introduction to fruit purées enjoyable; the gently chilled consistency may please many babies on hot days.
Maiyko's note
At Maiyko, we believe in simple, single-fruit steps in complementary feeding. Offer the peach on its own, without adding any sweeteners or spices; prepare it fresh and serve it cool rather than ice-cold. Remember that every baby gets used to new tastes at their own pace.
