Directions

  1. 1

Break the cauliflower into small florets and rinse them well under running water.

  2. 2

Cook the florets in the drinking water for 12-15 minutes, steaming or simmering over low heat, until soft enough to mash easily with a fork.

  3. 3

Mash or blend the softened cauliflower together with a little of its cooking water until smooth.

  4. 4

Thin to a consistency your baby can swallow easily by adding breast milk, formula or warm boiled water.

  5. 5

If you like, stir in a few drops of olive oil.

  6. 6

Let it cool to lukewarm before offering it by spoon; introduce each new ingredient one at a time, 3 days apart.

🌱 Why is it nourishing?

Cauliflower is a light, easy-to-digest vegetable that adds a gentle contribution of vitamin C and fiber to your baby's meal. With its smooth texture, this puree can be a comfortable option for babies getting to know the spoon and exploring different vegetables. Prepared with no additives, it can take its place as a balanced vegetable meal during the weaning period.
