Made with ripe avocado, this smooth purée offers a gentle, nourishing start for little ones beginning solids; no cooking needed, its healthy fats lend a creamy texture to tiny spoonfuls.
Ingredients
- 1/2 piece ripe avocado
- 1-2 tablespoons breast milk or infant formula (liquid)
- a few drops fresh lemon juice (optional, a few drops)
Directions

Make sure the avocado is ripe and soft; the skin should give gently when pressed.

Halve the avocado, remove the stone and scoop the flesh into a bowl with a spoon.
- 3
If you'd like to slow browning, add a few drops of fresh lemon juice (optional).
- 4
Mash thoroughly with a fork or blend with a hand blender until perfectly smooth.
- 5
Stir in breast milk or formula a little at a time to soften the texture to your baby's liking.
- 6
Make sure there are no lumps and you have a smooth, flowing consistency.
- 7
Serve fresh; do not store, prepare a new portion each time.
🌱 Why is it nourishing?
Thanks to its healthy monounsaturated fats, avocado is a gentle, energy-giving option for babies starting solids and provides fatty acids that support the developing brain. Its creamy, smooth texture makes swallowing easier for 6+ month babies discovering spoon feeding. Because it needs no cooking and is naturally mild and sweet, it lets natural flavours guide your baby's emerging palate without any added salt or sugar.
